Obsession by Jennifer L. Armentrout is out TODAY!

It's OUT TODAY!! Jennifer L. Armentrout's Obsession is one hot adult book you definitely want to add to your ebook collection. You can check out my 5 star review here. Want to know more about the book? Check it out below:

He’s arrogant, domineering, and… To. Die. For.

Hunter is a ruthless killer. And the Department of Defense has him firmly in their grasp, which usually doesn’t chafe too badly because he gets to kill bad guys. Most of the time he enjoys his job. That is, until he’s saddled with something he’s never had to do before: protect a human from his mortal enemy.

Serena Cross didn’t believe her best friend when she claimed to have seen the son of a powerful senator turn into something…unnatural. Who would? But then she witnesses her friend’s murder at the hands of what can only be an alien, thrusting her into a world that will kill to protect their secret.
Hunter stirs Serena’s temper and her lust despite their differences. Soon he’s doing the unthinkable—breaking the rules he’s lived by, going against the government to keep Serena safe. But are the aliens and the government the biggest threats to Serena’s life…or is it Hunter?

OBSESSION by Jennifer L Armentrout, Book Review & Blog Tour

Hello! Welcome today's OBSESSION blog tour! I'm excited to share my fangirly review of OBSESSION with you guys today. After you read this book, you'll know why I'm fangirling over Hunter.

OBSESSION is a book adult fans of Jennifer's YA series will devour! Hello hotness! Who knew the Arum could be so hot, and easy to love? Not me. As soon as Hunter appeared in this book, I knew I was in as much trouble as Serena was. There's no going back after you get to know Hunter.

You know what I love about a book like this? The fact that the author can make me love a group of people I despised in the series this book compliments. If you've read the Lux series you'll know I'm talking about the Arum. I like to refer to them as the Alien police. These guys are ruthless, skilled fighters who hunt down and kill those not abiding by the rules, so to speak. Jennifer did something you unique with this book. She made me see them in a different light, and completely fall in love with one of them, Hunter. I loved being able to see into the Arum world on a completely differently world than I did before, and understand the Arum more. Now let's talk about Hunter.

Remember Daemon from the Lux series? Not that anyone could forget that hot, snarky alien who knows how to get under your skin. Well let's just say Hunter makes him look like a tame kitten. If you know Daemon, you know that's saying something. Holy hotness batman! Hunter is that dark, brooding bad boy you want to run from, as much as you want to get to know a whole lot better. Let's just say he's one Arum you don't want to cross, and he's definitely someone you wouldn't want to run away from either. He's domineering. He's arrogant, and whoa mama when he knows what he wants, he gets it!

This is one sizzling read that has all the right components for a guilty pleasure. Hunter and Serena have that sizzling character chemistry I can't get enough of. Mix that with Serena's snarky comments, and stubborn attitude and you have my kind of book. Oh Serena! I love that girl. It doesn't matter if Hunter could take her out in a heartbeat, this human girl isn't about to let some hot alien tell her what to do. Serena's attitude and comments had me laughing out loud, while Hunter's invade your personal space, and leave you weak in the knees actions had me sighing. Move over Daemon and Kat, Serena & Hunter are a match made in Jennifer Armentrout character heaven.

Speaking of personal space, Hunter and Serena's hot scenes together, yeah, Hunter definitely knows how to make readers and Serena weak in the knees. There are some HOT scenes in this book. I like the way Jennifer writes her sex scenes, because she just writes them, and doesn't throw in all this other fluff some other adult romance books/scenes tend to have in them, that totally kill the entire scene.  She writes her domineering guys in a way that makes them hot, and not guys you'd like to kick between the legs while giving you a piece of their mind. Sure Hunter can be a jerk, but understanding his back ground and the way things go in his world, made it so much easier to understand him. Plus for me, if he was written any other way I wouldn't have liked loved him as much as I did.

The other thing I love about Jennifer's books, and it rings true with Obsession, is a great story line that complicates the relationship. There's plenty of danger, action, and a few open ended events that leave me wishing this book didn't have to end. I seriously hope there will be more to Hunter and Serena's story. Seriously, my book collection is begging for more Hunter and Serena. I devoured in a matter of hours.

Talk about a guilty pleasure, Jennifer Armentrout's new adult/adult books are just that for me. Her books always deliver on the sizzling character chemistry I've become addicted to, snarky character comments I enjoy reading, and of course those domineering male characters you want to despise, yet you can't help falling in love with. Yes, there's something to be said about reading a Jennifer Armentrout book. Whether it's YA, New Adult, or Adult, Jennifer's books will always leave you wanting more.

Be sure to pick this one up when it's out on the 31st of May!

STEALING HARPER Blog Tour: Interview, Exclusive Excerpt & Giveaway

Hello & welcome to today's blog tour stop for Molly McAdams Stealing Harper! YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING! Want to know why? Because of you, STEALING HARPER IS OUT TODAY!!! Let's right! It's out a full 2 weeks ahead of it's original release date because you guys met the pre-order goal! CONGRATULATIONS on that!!

Before I share my interview with Molly, and give you a little teaser from the book, I'd love to tell you a little bit about the book itself.

Chase Grayson has never been interested in having a relationship that lasts longer than it takes for him and his date to get dressed again. But then he stumbles into a gray-eyed girl whose innocence pours off her, and everything changes. From the minute Harper opens her mouth to let him know just how much he disgusts her, he's hooked.

But a princess deserves a Prince Charming who can make her dreams come true. Not a guy who can turn her life into a nightmare.

All good intentions go out the window when Harper starts to fall for the guy Chase has come to view as a brother. He wanted to protect her by keeping her away, but he can’t stand to see her with anyone else, and he’ll do anything to make her his. But when it comes down to Harper choosing between the two, will Chase have the strength to step back from the girl who has become his whole world if it means she’ll be happy?

Lines will be crossed. Friendships will be put to the test. And hearts will be shattered

Hi Molly! Welcome to Mundie Moms today. Can you please tell us a little bit about Stealing Harper?
STEALING HARPER is Chase's POV of TAKING CHANCES. A lot of alternate POVs are little just the exact story, told in someone else's perspective (hence, the name…duh, Molly…okay shutting up now) But I feel like with Chase, he was always so secretive and gone so often, that we really get an entirely new story in STEALING HARPER. It's still full of heartache, but oh my word is it worth the ride!

What do you think is one of Harper's greatest strengths?
She can handle her own, she is more than capable of taking care of herself in any situation. She may make some stupid decisions, but for the most part, she doesn't play the victim when bad situations come up.

You have a group of characters who are all flawed, and easy to relate to. Which of your characters has surprised you the most in terms of how much they've changed/grown over the course of the story?
Chase. For sure, I was blown away when I started STEALING HARPER. He was like a whole new person to me, I was constantly telling my husband "I didn't know he felt that way/thought that!"

What do you like about both of the romantic interests in this story?
For both of them equally, I love their love for Harper…no matter what. For Chase, I loved his attitude with Harper. Like he was going to push her buttons and make her uncomfortable…and he was going to enjoy it. For Brandon, I love his sweet personality. I love how he cares for every part of Harper regardless of the situation, and how he honored Chase.

Where do you draw your inspiration from for your characters?
The main three actually all came from my original dream that started TAKING CHANCES. I already had a very vivid idea of what they were all like, but I do put a lot of me, my family, and my friends in all my characters.

What's the best piece of writing advice you'd give to younger, aspiring authors?
Write what you WANT to write. Don't write what everyone else is writing, or what you think you should write for people. If you're in love with your story, others will love your story!

MUNDIE MOMS EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT
I slammed the door with more force than necessary and stalked out to the living room, “What the hell is wrong with all of you?!”
“She putting up much of a fight, Chase?” Drew sneered and put more bottles of liquor away.
My hands balled into fists again, “You’re all assholes, you just embarrassed the shit out of her.” I turned to look at Bree, she looked like she was five minutes from passing out. “You’re on your own tonight, sis. Or ask one of the other guys to take care of you.”
“Chase,” Brad said with a confused look, “seriously? She’s your sister, that –” he jerked his head toward one of the hallways, “is just some chick that ain’t gonna put out for you.”
Don’t punch him. Don’t freaking punch him. “She’s your problem tonight.” I said through clenched teeth and went back to my room.
“That was rude, she's your sister. She should be in here too.”
Harper too? Did no one else realize how much of a bitch Bree just was? “Are you serious? You're gonna defend her after she just spilled that?”
“She's drunk. I'm sure she didn't realize it.”
“That's not an excuse.” I almost groaned, there she goes being sweet as sin again, “Come on Harper, get in.”

About the Author
Molly grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband and furry four-legged daughter. Some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling and long walks on the beach…which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. When she’s not diving into the world of her characters, she can be found hiding out in her bedroom surrounded by her laptop, cell, Kindle and fighting over the TV remote. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies, fried pickles and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm...or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.

Blog Tour Review: Need by Stephanie Lawton

Hi everyone! I'm Jennifer. WAY back in the day I was a moderator on the Mundie Moms forum and now review YA/ NA books for Novel Thoughts. Today I'm so so excited to be guest reviewing the amazing adult sequel/ companion to the YA novel Want by Stephanie Lawton. And a big thanks to Mundie Moms and Katie for letting me and my slightly incoherent thoughts on here!

By: Stephanie Lawton
Released on: May 17th, 2013 (tomorrow!)
5 Stars: LOVED IT!
Source: eARC from author to review/ bought
Purchase from: Barnes & Noble: paperback | ebook Amazon: paperback | ebook

Synopsis:
Isaac Laroche is cursed. All he wants to do is hide out and feel sorry for himself. Never mind that he got caught sleeping with his seventeen-year-old piano student, or that he abandoned her when the truth was exposed.

Isaac’s feisty high school sweetheart has different plans. Heather Swann has returned to their hometown of Mobile, Alabama, to regroup after breaking up with her troll of a fiancé. She’s restless and looking for a diversion, but she bites off more than she can chew when she sets her sights on rehabilitating Isaac with her unorthodox sexual, mental, and physical plans.

The two quickly reconnect, but their happiness is threatened by family secrets, old vendettas and the death of a beloved father-figure.

Can Heather handle Isaac’s baggage, or will her own come back to haunt them both?

**WARNING: This is a sequel. While it’s a companion book, there will be spoilers for Want by Stephanie Lawton.

When I was first told by Stephanie Lawton that there was going to be an adult sequel to Want. I got excited. Like, really, really excited. Even when she warned me that it was darker and twisted. Hey, whatever. Bring it on. And I have to say it felt sooo good being back in Ms. Lawton’s completely crazy-pants South.

In Want, we read of Juli, a seventeen-year-old piano prodigy who falls in love with her much older, very sexy and very messed-up piano teacher Isaac Laroche. In Need, we follow Isaac and the trail of disaster in his wake. After the cataclysmic events in Want, the last person you are probably sympathetic towards is Isaac. And you might even think, ‘bah, why would I want to read a book about that ass?’ Well, believe me, he’s about to get his delivered in the package of small, feisty, slightly insane and yet focused, Heather Swann, his ex from high school. She’s made it her mission to whip (maybe figuratively, maybe literally) bad boy Isaac into a Southern gent.

What I loved about Want was the totally insanity of the characters and setting. The mix of a traditional Deep South town and crazy characters is just asking for an implosion of anything logical. I thought, oh, no way could there be anything crazier than some of the stuff that happened in Want. Oh, wow, was I ever wrong. There were several moments, where I paused, looked at my sleeping cat and said ‘no, oh, surely what’s happening isn’t what I think is happening, no!’ The cat didn’t respond and I kept reading to discover, yes it was. My twisted intuition was in fact, correct. If Ms. Lawton excels at anything, it is to take the fragile construct of a situation and Hiroshima it into the next universe.

So Want was blush-worthy. It was steamy and sexy, but still written for the older YA audiences. Need gave a friendly wave as it passed right on by and into adult romance. Like, holy hotness, Batman! I’m still as red as my hair! But even with all of the X-rated yumminess, there was distinct humor running alongside the schexy and the crazy. Can’t lie, upon the term ‘manscaping’ I burst into a fit of the giggles that lasted about 20 minutes. Not to mention the sheer outlandishness of Heather Swann. Never ceased to make me laugh, even if it was a half-embarrassed, half-blushing laugh.

I’ve read everything Stephanie Lawton has put out, 2 novels, a novella and a short story and I have to say I will continue to read anything and everything she produces. She could probably write a computer manual or a history textbook and I’d read it. That being said, I do hope she writes more Southern gothics. She writes them so well and so deviously delicious.

About the Author:

Sarah Ross started her obsession with reading at an early age, getting in trouble for sneaking BabySitter Club and Nancy Drew books into math class in elementary school. She would read any fiction book she could get her hands on. Sarah knew it was an addiction when instead of grounding her from TV or music, her mom would take away her books as punishment (The Horror!). Her love of all things paranormal was inspired by her good friend Laurie, who convinced Sarah that books with vampires, witches, and all things shifter were amazing. After a little reluctance, she gave it a shot with the Sookie Stackhouse books, realized she was right, and the rest was history.

Sarah grew up in Pittsburgh, graduated from The University of Pittsburgh with a degree in English, and taught 8th graders to love reading as much as she does for several years. She will always be a proud member of the Steelers Nation, but couldn’t take the cold and moved her frozen tush to Florida where she now lives with her family and two cats. You will find Sarah now with her trusty Kindle in hand and toes in the sand!

Excerpt Reveal: Trophy Husband by Lauren Blakely

Hello & Welcome to today's excerpt reveal for Lauren Blakely's Trophy Husband. I have not yet read this book, but you can guarantee this is on my list of "mom" books to read, and one I'll be picking up when it's out later this month. Check out this cover and the excerpt below.

Sometimes you can't help falling in love, even when you try to do the opposite...Successful fashion blogger McKenna Bell has spent far too long protecting herself after the way her ex-fiancé left her at the altar for a college chick he met the night of his bachelor party. Loving again, trusting again, well, that's just not in the cards. Especially now that her ex is back in town with his new woman, demanding custody of McKenna's favorite creature in the whole world--her dog. No effing way. McKenna's had enough of him, and she decides to even the score by finding her own hot young thing -- a Trophy Husband. Sure, she's only twenty-seven, but doesn't that make it even more fun -- and infuriating to her ex -- to pursue a younger man? When she declares her intentions on her daily blog, her quest quickly skyrockets in popularity, and that's when Chris enters the picture, and he’s got all the assets. He's handsome, successful, and turns her inside out with a kiss to end all kisses, the kind that makes you feel like a shooting star. But loving again could mean losing again, and it's so much easier to focus on getting even, isn't it? Unless, you just can't help falling in love. Which means McKenna will have to come face to face with what she really wants in life -- protecting her heart from hurt, or letting go of her fears of a new beginning.

TROPHY HUSBAND Excerpt:

“You know what I would name my band if I were in a band? Cult of the Neon Santas.”
“Bet that gets all your rock star desires out of your system. Mine would be Pizza for Breakfast.”
“I love that name and having that on the menu,” I say, then take a drink of my grapefruit and vodka. “You want to know why I’m not a rock star, Chris?”
“Why are you not a rock star, McKenna?”
“It’s not because I can’t sing. It’s not because I can’t hit a note if my life depended on it. And it’s not because I can’t play a guitar,” I say, layering in a pause for effect. “It’s because I can’t stand being in a car for more than one hour. It would make me crazy having to drive all over this country from gig to shining gig.”
Chris laughs, then tucks a strand of my hair back behind my ear. “You’re funny, McKenna.”
I’m funny. He says I’m funny. I feel like Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer when Clarice tells him he’s cute. Rudolph scampers off, joyous and happy, shouting, “She thinks I’m cute! She thinks I’m cute!”
I could so fall in love with him. I could fall in love with him in a heartbeat. He brings his other hand to my waist, and pulls me in close. He’s seated on the bar stool, and I’m standing as I slide into the V between his legs, his firm thighs now on either side of me. The distance between us narrows, and the temperature rises. Like this, with him so close, I can tell how much he wants me. As much as I want him. I am turned on beyond belief, my skin is so hot, and my body is aching all over with the need to be touched, and he knows it. And just like that, the mood between us here at Circa Rose shifts. It’s no longer flirty, or chatty, or get to know you. We’re no longer a guy and girl confessing to crushes and likes. As he plays with the waistband of my skirt, his hand dipping inside, stroking the bare skin of my hips just above my panties, we are a man and a woman who want to get the hell out of here. The air between us electric, like the moments before a summer storm.
“We don’t need to shoot that promo anymore, do we?” he asks, and his voice is different now too. It’s smoky and low, and as he brings me in closer, I can tell he’s gone to the same place I’ve gone to. Desire. And then the hope that we can take this contact to another level.
“I was really hoping to see your fancy studio though,” I tease.
“It has a nice couch.”
“We could do a lot on a couch.”
“It’s ten blocks away.”
“That’s far,” I say, and I’m keenly aware of how my voice has become a ragged whisper. He has to know what I want right now. Him. His green eyes are dark, shadowed with lust and staring intensely into mine. He’s waiting for me to say more. “But I think I really want to see that couch.”
“Good, because I would really fucking love to make out with you properly right now.”
There is no option to do anything else. There is no way I will go anywhere right now, but to this studio that’s ten blocks away. I cannot conceive of doing anything else in this moment but being alone with Chris. He takes my hand, gripping it tight, and guides me to the front of the bar, then the sidewalk. In seconds flat, he’s hailed a cab.
“That’s no small feat to hail a cab quickly in San Francisco,” I say as we slide inside.
“It’s part of the guy code. All the cabbies in the world have this special alert to show up quickly when a guy really needs to be alone with his woman.”
I start to laugh, but my laughter is smothered by his lips on mine, and soon I’m grabbing at his shirt, and he’s cupping the back of my head, and we are a fevered picture of two people who can’t get enough of each other. Then the cab stops, Chris pays, and we’re at the door of a three-story brick office building that’s dark except for one light in the lobby.
“This isn’t where you shoot your show, right?” I ask as he fishes in his pocket for the keys. My hands toy with the waistband of his jeans.
He shakes his head. “No. The network’s over in the Dogpatch, near the other TV shows shot in town. This is just a tiny little studio for pick-ups, promos, quickies.” He winks at the last word as he unlocks the door and holds it open for me.
Using his cell phone for light, we walk quickly up a darkened stairwell, then Chris pushes open a heavy door that leads into a short hallway. He flicks on the light switch. At the end of the hall is a door with a white lacquered sign that reads Fish Out of Water Studios.
“Clever name,” I remark.
“Like a band name,” he replies as he opens that door and turns on the light. The space is split in two by a glass window. The studio itself is beyond the glass and it’s tiny – but even in the dark I can tell it has a green screen on one wall, a camera, and lights. We’re in the waiting area and there’s a desk with a desk calendar, a computer and pens, and the aforementioned couch.
But we don’t make it to the couch. Instead, I back up quickly against the wall and pull him close to me, my fingers tapping out a staccato rhythm on his belly.
