In this intense and exhilarating New Adult series debut, a hotshot snowboarder and a vulnerable rebel with a cause try to let go of the past—and find a future in each other.

Twenty-one-year-old professional snowboarder Z Michaels is the bad boy of Park City, Utah. He’s always had his pick of any girl in town—and on the competition circuit. But underneath his cool exterior is a young man in turmoil, trying to take the edge off tragedy by overindulging in sex and shredding the slopes. In fact, Z’s reckless behavior is a thinly veiled attempt to blunt his emotional suffering with physical pain.

Ophelia Richardson isn’t like any girl Z has ever met. Though she’s from New Orleans high society, she’s no Southern belle—and she’s not shy about being miserable in frozen, godforsaken Park City. But laying low is her only option after her ex, a rich boy who couldn’t take no for an answer, nearly killed her in a jealous rage. Following that terrifying encounter, the last thing Ophelia needs is a boyfriend—especially one as rich and arrogant as Z. But Ophelia soon discovers that he isn’t what he seems. If anything, Z may be even more damaged than she is.

Tormented by their pasts and feeling alone in the world, Z and Ophelia find a connection unlike any they’ve ever known. But with Ophelia hiding the details of her life in Louisiana and Z’s death wish reaching terrifying new heights, their relationship seems to be going downhill before it even begins—unless they can find the strength in each other to trust, grow, and love again

Just in time for the Winter Olympics, Tracy Wolff's debut New Adult series EXTREME RISK is now available. Following a group of hunky, adrenaline junky Snow Boarders who are contenders for the upcoming Olympics, Z Michaels and his friends don't just heat up the slopes. These snowboarding hotties  are more than raw talent, and chiseled abs. Under neath it all, these guys have hidden secrets that they keep securely under wraps.

Z Michaels wasn't a character I connected with, but I was totally intrigued by him. It was obvious there was something more to this bad boy who lives life by his own rules, and is used to getting his way. His tormented past drives him to live life dangerously, and on the edge to numb the pain. Once I got to know where that pain came from, and why he did the things he did, and what he was running from, I totally got his need to be reckless. The more reckless he is the less he'll feel. Whether that is on the slopes or in the bed, he does everything in his power to keep the pain from his past under wraps. That is under his world gets rocked by someone he least excepted.

I liked Ophelia, and her snarky come backs that kept Z on his toes. I liked that she wasn't all goo-goo over Z from the moment he walked up to the counter and ordered a coffee from her. Well, she thought he was hot, which to me was a realistic way to view Z. Like Z, Ophelia has her own demons in her post she's hiding. Z is just the kind of guy she does not want back in her life, and for good reason. I liked that Ophelia wasn't this straight and narrow girl who she at first might seem. There's much more to her than meets the eye, and I liked that she could hold her own, and saw through Z's bs.

Z and Ophelia definitely have an attraction to each other. Things definitely heat up between the two of them quickly. As in HOT. *fans self* There was something about the two of them together that I wanted to love more than I did. There was something missing or maybe it was just a little too rushed for me. I got both of them. I understood what drove them to make the decisions they did, I got their chemistry, but there was something I can't pin point that I felt was missing. Either way it wasn't bad, as I still enjoyed the book.

I LOVED this setting! The mountains of Park City, UT were the perfect place for this story to take place. I'm a huge fan of snowboarding. I also enjoyed getting a peak into the history Z has with his buddies, whom all have grown up together on the slopes. One of the things I loved about this book was the closeness he has with them, and Cam, the only girl in their group. I love it when my love of sports and romance gets meshed together to create a steamy guilty pleasure read. Tracy Wolff's debut, New Adult series EXTREME RISK is a series that will appeal to new adult fans who love extreme sports, and snowboarding.
