From the wrong side of the tracks and with most of her family in jail or dead, Piper Walsh is used to everyone in town thinking the worst about her. It doesn’t seem to matter that she’s worked hard to build a good life for herself. So she isn’t surprised that when she comes into contact with Sweet Hill’s wildly irresistible, arrogant sheriff, Hale Walters, they’re instant adversaries. Piper has nothing in common with the town golden-boy-turned-lawman—and she refuses to be a notch on his bedpost.

Despite rumors, Hale avoids fooling around with the women of Sweet Hill, many of whom are hoping to get him to the altar. But staying out of Piper’s path is proving near impossible. The infuriating troublemaker clearly has no respect for his badge. As she continues to push his buttons, it becomes clear to Hale that he must either arrest Piper—or claim her as his own.

Another fantastic Sophie Jordan romance. One of the things I've come to love about a Sophie Jordan romance, whether in her adult books or YA ones, is that the relationships are complex. While the characters have a chemistry that definitely ignites the pages, their relationship itself is one they have to work and fight for. This book was no different.

Piper and Hale had me laughing as much as they had me swooning. These two are definitely a perfect match. I loved seeing how everything unfolds for the two of them, despite all the mess that's going on around them. It's definitely a complicated relationship, but when it comes to just the two of them, together, it's a scorcher! These two together, made sense. Oh that ending! I need more of their story. Now I need to go read the rest of this story.

Speaking of this series, this book is a great stand alone. I've not read this series prior to reading this book, and I had no problems getting right into this story. Obviously there was a history with them, but I really enjoyed the fact that Sophie Jordan wrote this story as one that can totally stand on it's own, while also fitting right into the series it's apart of.
