Maddy, dressed in white, stands at the back of the church. At the end of the aisle is Rob - the man she's about to marry. Next to Rob is Ben - best man and the best friend any two people ever had.

And that's the problem.

Because if it wasn't Rob waiting for her at the altar, there's a strong chance it would be Ben. Loyal and sensitive Ben has always kept his feelings to himself, but if he turned round and told Maddy she was making a mistake, would she listen? And would he be right?

Best friends since childhood, Maddy, Ben and Rob thought their bond was unbreakable. But love changes everything. Maddy has a choice to make but will she choose wisely? Her heart, and the hearts of the two best men she knows, depend on it...

This was my first Giovanna Fletcher story, and I will definitely be picking up another one. You guys, this was adorable from the very first page. I adored Maddy, Rob and Ben. Getting to see their friendship and relationship mature from the time they were in grade school until they were well into their 20s was so worthwhile. It was light and fluffy and the three narrators brought it all to life. Their escapades were so sweet, and sometimes even, funny. It was the stuff of rom-com dreams.

BUT. I know, you sensed the "but" coming, didn't you? But in the midst of a quite respectable love triangle, something felt off. Mostly, it was the ending and the one under-developed character who, in my opinion, was begging to be more. Ahem. NO SPOILERS. BUT, but, but. So because of the ending, I knocked it down a full star. It felt forced and therefore, somehow unreal. BUT (there I go again with the "but"s), it won't be my last Giovanna story, because I so loved 90% of the story.

In The Lizzie Bennet Diaries creator Kate Rorick’s first adult fiction novel, we enter the wild, bewildering world of modern pregnancies. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll shake your head as you wonder where everyone’s sanity went...

Meet the mothers…

Nathalie Kneller: Nathalie’s plan: to announce her pregnancy now that she’s finally made it past twelve weeks! But just as she’s about to deliver (so to speak) the big news to her family, her scene-stealing sister barfs all over the Thanksgiving centerpiece. Yup, Lyndi’s pregnant too, swiping the spotlight once more…

Lyndi Kneller: Lyndi’s plan: finally get her life together! She’s got a new apartment, new promotion, new boyfriend. What she didn’t count on—a new baby! She can barely afford her rent, much less a state-of-the-art stroller…

Sophia Nunez: Sophia’s plan: Once she gets her daughter Maisey off to college, she’ll finally be able to enjoy life as make-up artist to one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, and girlfriend to one of rock’s hottest musicians. But after 18 years she discovers the stork is once again on its way…

Now these women are about to jump headlong into the world of modern day pregnancy. It’s a world of over the top gender reveal parties (with tacky cakes and fireworks); where every morsel you eat is scrutinized and discussed; where baby names are crowd-sourced and sonograms are Facebook-shared. And where nothing goes as planned...

I'm going to be honest, this was a book I picked up on a whim. I saw it on instagram and thought, hmm, this looks good. I had no idea that the author was also the creator of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries (a YouTube series I absolutely love).

So, I plunged in to discover that the characters, Nathalie, Lyndi and Sophia were completely relatable. It's been a few years (okay, almost 13) since I've been pregnant, but honestly, does a mom every forget those 40 weeks? Short answer: No.  In fact, it was kind of fun to re-visit the excitement, pains and worries through the eyes of these characters.

It was no surprise that one of the writer’s behind The Lizzie Bennett Diaries wrote this, because it's funny, sweet and well written. You will completely fall in love with the characters and get their circumstances immediately. Another great beach bag read.  And I'm completely looking forward to more books from Kate.
